Full Circle Lengha Skirts

High waisted, full circle lengha skirts are so flattering! They look great on different body types and can be paired with various blouses to create different outfits (Indian or Western). In this blog post, the white lengha skirt and yellow/gold/green embroidered dupatta/chunni were designed by me to pair with the emerald green and gold blouse (blouse purchased in India). All fabrics were purchased from Jagjit Textiles in Brampton, Ontario. Fabric measurements for those interested in making their own lengha skirts and dupatta/chunni can be found below.
Full Circle lengha skirts provide ample fabric and have a really elegant flow once worn. Personally, I think a lengha looks best if the skirt is plain and the focus is on the blouse and chunni/dupatta.
Fabric: 4.5/5 meters of raw ivory silk. Ask your tailor to make a full circle skirt with a waistband (if you are making to measure, alternatively, you can also ask for an adjustable waistband).
Dupatta/chunni: 2 meters of detailed net (standard dupattas are 1.5 - 1.75 meters in length). I like to choose net fabrics that will compliment the blouse that will be worn with the outfit. In my example, the net dupatta is gold/green/yellow, with an emerald green border.
